Southwater Event Group is fully committed to ensuring that all staff contribute fully to the delivery of excellence. It is therefore essential that we ensure everyone has the relevant knowledge, skills, and expertise to perform their work to consistently high standards.
We recognise that the training and development of our staff is fundamental to the improvement of our operational performance and achievement of our strategy and goals and that’s why the training and development we offer you is an integral part of everything we do.
What we offer
Delivering exceptional customer service is at the heart of everything we do – from the front of house teams delivering the event to the Group Board Directors. Your journey with us starts even before your first day in your new role, as you will be given access to our company intranet to help you to understand what we do, how we achieve it and the importance of everyone working towards our Group vision of:

You will also be given immediate access to our on-line training portal to help you understand our customer service and hospitality expectations and to ensure you can undertake mandatory legal compliance training before your first day.
Upon commencement all employees will receive company and departmental induction as well as any specific training relevant to your job; ensuring you have everything you need to help you settle into your new role as quickly as possible.
There are also many opportunities for your continued growth and development through both on and off the job training. Our in-house development courses include: Hospitality Training, Equality, In-house Food Hygiene and refresher training, HACCAP, Management & Supervisory Skills and Assertiveness Skills to name but a few. We also work in partnership with many training providers to deliver NVQ’s across all areas of our business.
If you need specific qualifications or are interested in undertaking additional training to further develop your career we also offer:
- First Aid at Work training (Accredited)
- Defibrillator training (run by West Midlands Ambulance Service)
- Basic and Intermediate Food Hygiene
- IOSH Managing Safely in the Exhibition & Events Industry
- Counter balance and Reach Fork Lift Truck Training
- IPAF Qualifications
- Personal license training
- SIA License Security qualification
