On track at Telford
Model railway enthusiasts from all over the UK are on the right track at Telford this weekend.
The 30th Guildex exhibition is taking place at The International Centre, Telford, on Saturday and Sunday, and the venue has hosted the show for the past 20 years.
Run by the Gauge 0 Guild, the exhibition includes models, demonstrations, railway layouts, and specialist trade stalls for anyone interested in 7mm scale modelling on 0-gauge track.
Sandy Harper, Chairman, said: “We have over 5500 members, including over 500 outside the UK, and we’re delighted to be back again at Telford this year.
“The venue is perfect for our event with plenty of flexible exhibition space, convenient parking right outside the door, and hotel accommodation just yards from the exhibition halls.
“We’ve been so impressed with The International Centre that we’ve held our annual exhibition here for each of the 20 years we’ve run it, which is testimony to the high standards and excellent customer service we receive.
“We are indebted to the layout operators, demonstrators and everyone involved in running the event who give their time to help us put on such a great show.”
Diane Austin, for The International Centre, said: “Guildex was the first event ever to take place in Hall 3, after it was purpose-built as an exhibition hall, and we’re very proud that the organisers are still coming to us 20 years later.
“The exhibition attracts model railway enthusiasts from all over the UK and beyond, and we’ll also be hosting the Guild annual general meeting on the Sunday afternoon.”
Guild shows are also held throughout the year at Bristol, Kettering and Halifax.
